Minister Noel Ahern T.D. announces preferred tenderer for decentralised offices in Roscommon Town for the Property Registration Authority.
Noel Ahern, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works today announced that the OPW has identified the JSL Group Ltd, 43 Lower Salthill, Galway as the preferred tenderer for the Design and Build of the new decentralised office for the Property Registration Authority (formerly known as the Land Registry) at Golf Links Road, Roscommon Town.
Minister Ahern said "I'm delighted to announce that the OPW has identified the JSL Group Ltd as the preferred tenderer for the design and build of the new decentralised office in Roscommon Town. I am confident that, subject to planning permission being granted and satisfactory completion of drawings and specifications by the contractor, a contract can be placed within the next six months. Construction work can commence on site as soon as possible upon completion of the contracts but it is not unreasonable at this point to hope for work to commence before the end of this year."
The OPW acquired the 4.1 acre site at Golf Links Road, Roscommon from a private vendor at a cost of €3 million.
The Minister continued "This is excellent news for Roscommon and further evidence that this Government is continuing to make significant progress with the Decentralisation policy. The economic advantages to Roscommon Town of the arrival of 230 civil servants will be clearly evident to all in the community.
