Minister Noel Ahern T.D. announces signing of lease for advance office of Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Tipperary town.

Noel Ahern, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works today announced that a lease for temporary office accommodation for the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform in Tipperary town has been signed.

Speaking about the signing Minister Ahern said "I'm very pleased to inform you that the lease for this advance premises has now been signed by my Office. This new office, located at Rossmore, will house 60 staff of the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. The premises is currently undergoing the final stages of a fit-out and will be ready for occupation very shortly.

Minister Ahern went on to speak about the permanent offices for the Department in Tipperary Town saying, "my Office has purchased a six and a half acre site on Rosanna Road for the permanent accommodation of the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service. Tender documents are being finalised at present for the construction of this premises which, when complete, will house 166 staff of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. At this point it is expected that construction works will be completed by mid 2010.
