Minister Noel Ahern T.D. Officially Opens New Revenue Offices in Kilrush Co. Kildare

Noel Ahern, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works yesterday officially opened the new Collector General's Office of the Revenue Commissioners in Kilrush, County Kildare.

Speaking at the opening Minister Ahern said "We are here today to mark the opening of the Collector General's office on Cappagh Road, Kilrush, and to acknowledge what is a clear lifestyle choice by the staff here today who have opted to transfer to Kilrush. The Marina, which we can see just across from this building, is a very visible reminder of the maritime tradition and definitely adds to the stunning vista and location of these offices. Apart from these fine offices and what Kilrush offers to you, the staff who have moved here to work, I am confident that Kilrush itself will benefit from this relocation of staff and their families, and this can only contribute to the economic wellbeing of the area".

The Minister continued "the work undertaken in this office is fundamental to the effectiveness of the overall tax collection system. This work is therefore central to the economic wellbeing of the Country, whether it's in actual tax receipts and returns secured on time, or the way you go about collection of tax debts that can accumulate, or the tax payment facilities that you make available to your customers. Your work and the efficient manner in which you undertake it is very important in minimising the compliance burden on business and at the same time securing timely compliance with the various tax obligations". The new Collector General's Office is located in Enterprise House, Cappagh Road, Kilrush, County Clare.
