Taoiseach announces new accommodation for Property Registration Authority in Roscommon Town.
Speaking on a visit today to Roscommon Town, The Taoiseach Mr Brian Cowen TD said " I welcome the announcement of the new accommodation for the Property Registration Authority. This new €11.5m state of the art office accommodation will be a significant asset for Roscommon, for the 230 staff of the Property Registration Authority and also to the customers who use the services of the Authority." The OPW acquired the 4.1 acre site from a private vendor at a cost of €3M. The offices and ancillary facilities, to accommodate up to 230 staff of the Property Registration Authority, are being procured on a design and build basis. Full planning permission has been granted by Roscommon County Council. The OPW has identified JSL Group Ltd, Lower Salthill, Galway, as the preferred tenderer and has informed the company of its intention to place a contract subject to acceptance of a number of conditions. It is expected that the contract will be placed shortly and that construction work will commence in the next few weeks and will be completed in Summer 2010. The value of the contract is EUR11.5 million, excluding VAT. Ends 28th May 2009
